WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY...

Merlin is a very friendly host. He welcomed us with a special home made bread and fresh drinks in the fridge. He also adviced us to visit some local performance which was fun and interesting. The loft itself is very cozy and clean with a private bathroom. If we had a chance, we would surely come again for longer stay.

We stayed in the loft room and loved it! It was well maintained and very clean. The host provided lemon poppy seed bread and drinks which was a nice touch! We would stay there again. We recommend it.

Merlin and his space was very nice. It was super spacious, clean, and comfy. I also appreciated the extra special touch of the lemon poppy loaf left for me. The best Airbnb I've stayed in so far!

We enjoyed staying in Nielsen House on our way from Canyonlands and Capitol Reef national parks while exploring Utah during Memorial Day weekend. The house is freshly renovated, very clean and cozy. The furniture is a bit old, but it only adds a special mood to the house, makes it more welcoming. And beds are just awesome!! Actually we were upgraded to stay in the house itself (another listing from Merlin) rather than in the loft, which was very nice. Unfortunately we were not able to meet Merlin in person, since we arrived very late and left early in the morning, but he was very responsive to all the questions that I had. Also we were lucky to find extremely delicious home made bread and brownies that became a perfect breakfast :)

Picking a place in central Utah may come with a bit of trepidation as many places reside off the beaten path, but Merlin's Nielsen home couldn't have been better. Merlin accommodated our quirky schedule as we came to do some filming and as we pulled into Ferron at 9:30PM we quickly found the place, which is right off the main drive, and had some of the homemade poppyseed bread laid out for us. The beds were extremely comfortable and the place was immaculately clean. Furthermore Merlin went above and beyond by bringing us extra homemade bread and even supplied us with marinated steaks for dinner one evening. We were continually showered with attentive hospitality and were within walking distance to the main market. The stay was precisely what we were looking for and I will return just to get away from it all with my wife and family in the future.

...this place felt like I was lucky enough to house sit my grandparents home. The house is easily 100+ years old, in amazing condition, well furnished, clean and spacious. The bed and linens were amazingly comfortable and welcoming. The host was prompt, responsive accommodating and unseen all at the same time. After enjoying coffee on the wrap around porch watching the grass grow, I an looking for almost any reason to travel through this way just to stay here again. 5 out of 5 stars!

As a host, Merlin was friendly, gracious, and genuinely interested in our having the best stay in Ferron. The Nielsen house is comfortable, spacious, well-equipped, and historic. I highly recommend a stay at his place. My daughter and I enjoyed an evening walk through the neighborhoods of Ferron and felt entirely rested in the morning as we pressed on to Moab. Again, the Nielsen house offers a fine place to rest, relax, and get to know a small town in Utah. Thanks!

[The Nielsen House] is like staying in a piece of history! Loved the decor and proximity to the [San Rafael] Swell.
